On Sunday, 6^th October 2024 the Lions Club of Pune Supreme successfully organized a blood donation camp aimed at promoting voluntary blood donation and raising health awareness in the community. The event attracted numerous participants, including non-Lions and their families, highlighting the club’s outreach and community engagement efforts.

Objectives

1. To facilitate voluntary blood donation.
2. To raise awareness about health issues, particularly among women regarding the importance of maintaining good health and healthy hemoglobin (Hb) levels.
3. To promote volunteerism and community service.

Participation

The blood donation camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from club members and many non-members from the local community. This diverse turnout underscored the collective commitment to supporting this vital cause.

Activities and Highlights

• Blood Donation:Trained medical staff from the Jan Kalyan Blood Centre conducted the blood donation process. The staff displayed professionalism and empathy, ensuring a comfortable experience for all donors.
• Health Awareness Sessions: Kamble provided valuable insights into the specific parameters and health considerations related to blood donation. His advice emphasized the importance of maintaining good health, particularly for women, encouraging attendees to focus on their well-being.
• Community Engagement:The event fostered a spirit of community service and volunteerism, allowing participants to contribute to a noble cause while learning about health and wellness.

Recognition

The Jan Kalyan Blood Centre honoured the Lions Club of Pune Supreme with an Appreciation Certificate, acknowledging the club’s “selfless service towards the voluntary blood donation

movement.” The certificate highlighted the organization of the blood donation camp and the club’s dedication to humanitarian efforts and community volunteerism.
