Introduction:

The Jaipur Foot was a significant and impactful event aimed at providing artificial limbs, polio calipers, and crutches to individuals with disabilities. This humanitarian initiative was organized by Lions Club of Pune Supreme, Lions Club Parbhani Men, and Ln. Vasantrao Dhadve Friends Club, and took place in Washim. The event was led by President Rameshwar Maniyar (Lions Club Pune Supreme), President Avi Tak (Lions Club Parbhani Men), and Lions member Ln. Sushil Mundada. The initiative sought to enhance the quality of life for people with mobility challenges, giving them the opportunity to regain independence and lead more empowered lives.

Pre-Event Preparation:

Initial Discussions and Site Visit Prior to the event, a site visit was conducted on Feb 17th, 2025, to ensure that all aspects of the event would be well-organized.

Venue: 

The venue at Savitribai Phule GNM Nursing College, Washim was inspected to ensure it had sufficient space for the Jaipur Foot technical team, registration area, and the fitting zones for the prosthetics.

Logistics: 

Plans for smooth operations, including crowd management, technical support, and timely distribution of the prosthetics, were reviewed.

Registration Activity

To ensure the successful distribution of Jaipur Foot prosthetics, a thorough registration process was implemented:

1. Identification of Beneficiaries: Local social welfare organizations helped identify individuals in need of assistance.

2. Advertisement: The event was widely publicized via newspapers, social media, and hoardings to reach as many people as possible.

3. Final Registration: After reaching out to the identified individuals, the number of registered beneficiaries was refined to 180.

4. Scrutiny and Confirmation: A meticulous review ensured that the beneficiaries met the criteria for receiving the prosthetics. This led to a final count of 124 confirmed beneficiaries.

Registrations & Measurements: 

The technical team conducted detailed measurements of each candidate to ensure that the Jaipur Foot prosthetics would be correctly fitted.

Inauguration Ceremony: 

The inauguration was graced by VDG Ashwini Bajoria , RC Priya Thakur, Lion Dr. Sanjay Vora PDG, Adv. Kiran Sarnaik MLC Washim, Dr. Vasantrao Dhadve and members of the Lions Club, reflecting the significance of the event and the collaborative effort behind it. 

April 2nd, 2025

Foot Distribution Activity:

The final distribution ceremony took place with  IPS Anuj Tare, RC Priya Thakur, Former MLA Adv. Vijay Jadhav, Lion Dr. Vasantrao Dhadve inaugurating the event. This was a key moment for the beneficiaries, who were empowered with mobility and independence.
